Trance mix by the Blue Room Project

[East Africa]
I WAS SO THRILLED to find what is perhaps my favourite Trance mix of all time — courtesy of the Blue Room Project. Peek what I wrote over at YouTube:

Wow!!! I have this track!! I got it of the Net around 2002 but it probably came out around 2000 or 2001. This is what I like to call Classic Trance. It’s soooooo peaceful, and full of energy & pure karma.

I’d say this has got to be one of the greatest Trance sets — ever. My hats off to the Blue Room Project. Does any1 know what the name of the mix is exactly??

I’d be nice to get the track listing too…some really great TRACKS here. lol! I’m more of a Houser but I like this style of Trance.

All I can say is that this mix — with a “progressive trance house” sound — will be part of music collection until the day I depart this earth for greener psychedelic pastures in the cosmos. I never tire of listening to it. This is why I LOVE the EDM (Electronic Dance Music) scene.

Heck, can you imagine if I didn’t meet those kool girls in that clothing store on Yonge Street (near Bloor) in downtown Toronto back in 2000 who invited me to Turbo? As they say, “the rest is history.” Afterwards, I discovered Life, The Comfort Zone, The Guvernment, Benson & Hedges Gold Club Series music events, Smirnoff music events, iDance and a ton of other EDM activities.

Talk about being at the right place at the right time. I’d probably still be going to Hip-Hop and Gino clubs where everyone has a bloody attitude and lots of alcoholic fights galore.

    Hi Max,

You don’t know me, but I’m looking for exactly this: the 39-minute mix from about 10 years ago. I had it back then but it disappeared some time around 2005. I have looked everywhere, including a few of the more popular torrent sites. Are you able to direct me at all to where I can find this thing?! I’m willing to pay, of course.

    Hi again Max,

Regarding that last post… um, it’s the progessive trance mix by Blueroom Project I’m refering to, heh o_O. It might be called “dance rave room” or something like that, but I just knew it by the name of my mp3 file, which was literally “One of the best progressive trance mixes.mp3″ :) Sorry for the double post.

  5. Hi Mike!
I have it on my PC! It’s 36MB & 39:21 in length. Dude, it is a timeless Progressive Trance mix. They just don’t make em like that any more — although I’m Dark Prog guy. :-)
Internet is slow here in Nairobi due to a cut in an undersea fibre cable. I could put it on a CD & mail it to you if ya want. Don’t worry about money. :-)
You sure you couldn’t find it on the Net? I got it around 2001 when I was living in Toronto & clubbing hard at places like The Comfort Zone, LIFE, The Guvernment & System SoundBar. Best time in my life — eva. :-)
Actually, I can upload it to my server on a friend’s connection & then I’ll send you the link. I have your email addy now. Where are ya located?

  6. Mike, take a peek at this link:
It shows: HENKIEPENKIE: Re-Mixen [ ] – “Blue Room Project – Dance rave room” 93 MB
Did you see that link before? I wonder if the 93MB is due to a high bit rate. Mine is 128kbps.
Looks like you have to sign up!
    Oh, what about Trance Addict?

  7. Michael says:

    Hi Max,

Heh-heh, I gave it a couple days without checking back… saw that you replied pretty quick. :)

    I’m in Montreal.

For the specifics, do you want me to keep writing here or would you rather give me an address?

Hi again Max. I see you’re busy but actually I just noticed this text above, which I seem to have missed the first time! That sounds great, what’s the link?

  9. Was that 93-megabyte version longer than the 39:21 one? I always wondered if the file that I have is incomplete, and would love to get the full version at better quality if it still exists somewhere. I must have listened to this file hundreds of times by now. The second song in the set is called Mainline – Narcotic.

  10. Well, I never got ahold of the 93MB version. Would be nice to know if it is an extended version though and to also get my hands on it. ;-)

Anywho, they just don’t make Trance like this any more, folks. This track is History – from EDM’s peak…an era that will never return. The EDM scene in Toronto and Montreal was AMAZING between 1998 to 2008. The vibe was tight. Then something changed.
I reckon this track is around 15 or 16 years old, yet its sound is so ethereal….so timeless. And I love the name of the file when I originally downloaded it: “Dance Rave – one of the best Progressive Trance House mixes.mp3″
    Couldn’t think of a better name. ;-)

    Off topic:
An amazing Trance track I heard around 2003 was called “New Generation1″ by Planetarian Harmony Experience from Costa Rica. I swear it was one of the BEST Trance sounds I’ve ever heard in my EDM life – Tribal Trance…mmm!! If you can find that track, it’s a keeper!

Here’s the full entry on the popular Vitamin IC EDM site in 2003:
Try this link in the Wayback Machine:

PHE – Planetarian Harmony Experience | Costa Rica |
This Techno-Trance live act by Marc’Antonio represents the edge of today’s electronic performing:…
    New Generation1 (short version) TRIBAL
    [4'17 - 3.9Mb]

Vitamin IC was an amazing site. You could download tons of EDM mp3s from bedroom DJs and producers all around the planet – for free. They had every EDM genre & sub genre category fully represented. DJs and producers were so creative back then. ;-(
